HOW TO BUY

  1. Licensed dealers must pre-register in the office or by fax (please see staff for details). Public Buyers must pay a $40 registration fee once during each calendar year. Fee is non-refundable.

  2. Please inspect the vehicles on sale day before they are auctioned. Please base your bid on your examination: Any needed repairs to “AS-IS” vehicles are the sole responsibility of the Buyer. The validity of specifications and/or information recorded on the windshield and/or window of any vehicle is not the responsibility of the Auction and is not subject to arbitration.

  3. Listen carefully to all announcements.

  4. Make sure you know what you are bidding on before you bid. Is it the right Vehicle? Is the mileage 50,000 and not 150,000? Is it an automatic or manual transmission? It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that they are bidding on the correct vehicle.

  5. Subject to the Seller’s approval, the last bidder is the absolute purchaser and is obligated to pay for the vehicle. Please do not bid unless you are prepared to purchase the vehicle.

  6. Additionally, no Seller is under any obligation to sell his/her vehicle for less than the price they are requesting. This is NOT an absolute Auction.

  7. We accept cash, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and ACH. Any method of payment other than cash, incurs a 5% processing fee. We DO NOT accept personal checks. No vehicle can be removed from the Auction facility until paid for in full.

  8. Vehicle title transfer requires valid state issued identification, i.e. driver’s license. If you need temporary tags, you must have a valid insurance ID card and state issued ID. If you are a PA resident, it is state law that tax be collected and transfers be done at the Auction if the vehicle was purchased here. To register your vehicle and receive a license plate, you will need valid, current proof of insurance in your name.

  9. After the vehicle is paid for, all sales are final and the obligation of the Auction Company ceases.

  10. Dealers: Any vehicles purchased through financing (i.e.: NextGear Capital, Auto Use, AFC etc.) will incur a $25, per vehicle, processing fee. If you do not pay for your vehicle within the required amount of time, the vehicle will be placed on your floor plan to bring you outstanding balance to $0

  11. Buyer is responsible to check for any open recalls. Buyer may do so by entering the VIN# at this website https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/

HOW TO SELL

  1. You must have a clear title in your name. Photo ID is required. If the Seller is not the title owner, they must possess a notarized Power of Attorney before the vehicle can be sold at Auction. This service is available at Lehigh Valley Auto Auction. Titles with the following defects will not be accepted: Documents NOT Notarized*, Open Titles, Jumping Signatures, Alterations, Erasures, Wrong Digits, Improper Reassignments, Missing Forms, Mileage Problems. We DO accept R-Title and Salvage Certificates, but this title condition MUST be announced prior to bidding. It is your responsibility to inform the office of this title condition and ensure that any branding is announced. Should you not ensure the announcement of the title condition, your sale may be voided. Vehicles can not be sold without a title present in the office.

  2. When you bring your Vehicle to Lehigh Valley Auto Auction, park in the general parking area, then go into the office to register your vehicle. Please remove ALL personal effects from your vehicle, including your license plate, as the Auction is not responsible for any items lost or stolen.

PLEASE NOTE: Sellers should have a spare key for their vehicle as we are not responsible for keys.

  1. The office clerk will ask you for your title. We also need your exact odometer reading, as you will be responsible for the correct mileage. If the odometer is not working, or has stopped in the past the vehicle is TMU (True Mileage Unknown) this must be announced prior to bidding.

  2. If you are a public Seller, there is a $40 registration fee, per vehicle for two runs and $60 for four runs. If your vehicle does not sell during the first auction that it is run, you may then re-run your vehicle once during the following auction for no additional fee. If you want to take advantage of your free additional run, your vehicle must be presented for the next Auction. If you skip attendance at an Auction, you forfeit your free run. If you sell your vehicle, a Seller’s fee will be deducted from your proceeds check. These are the only charges to sell your vehicle. If you choose to have your vehicle run through the auction more than one time during any given auction, a $10 re-run fee will be charged. Your proceeds check will be stamped with “ For Deposit Only”, NO EXCEPTIONS.

  3. When the last bid is received, the Auctioneer will confirm the highest bid with you. You have the right to accept or reject the bid. If you accept it, the vehicle is now SOLD and you cannot change your mind. Please report to the office to sign off on your title.

  4. To protect our customers, all vehicles registered here are subject to inspection by the State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation or National Auto Theft Bureau. Do not bring any Vehicle to the Auction that does not have a serial number plate.

  5. Lehigh Valley Auto Auction will make every effort to legally complete the transaction between the Buyer and Seller. Should Lehigh Valley Auto Auction for any reason fail to complete that transaction, the sale will then be considered “No Sale”. Lehigh Valley Auto Auction does not guarantee a sale. In the event the Buyer does not sign or pay for vehicle it will be re-run at the Auction’s discretion. In the event a deposit is received and the Buyer fails to complete the sale within 3 days of purchase, the deposit will be split 50/50 between the Seller and the Auction. If the Seller removes the Vehicle before the purchase is complete they will forfeit the sale.

  6. PLEASE NOTE: Payment is made available to Seller when purchaser’s payment has cleared to Auction and not before. *Please see staff for details.

  7. Should ‘Seller’ refuse to sell their vehicle for any reason outside the limitations of the Auction or rescind contract after sale has been agreed upon between Seller and Buyer, it shall be the responsibility of the Seller to pay any and all fees associated with the cancelled transaction; specifically the Seller’s and Buyer’s fees.

IF YOU SOLD YOUR VEHICLE: Make sure you get the Seller’s copy of your transaction from the Auction clerk, you may have to wait a few minutes until the Buyer signs the sales agreement and pays their deposit. After the Buyer pays for the vehicle, you can go into the office and pick-up your guaranteed Auction check. All checks will be made in the name of the title holder. At your request, checks may be mailed, however a $9.00 mailing fee will be deducted from your proceeds check. Your proceeds check will be stamped with “For Deposit Only”, NO EXCEPTIONS.

IF YOU DO NOT SELL YOUR VEHICLE: You can pick up your title in the office. Your title or your gate release will allow you to remove your Vehicle from the Auction facility. If you choose not to run your vehicle through the Auction for any reason, you will forfeit your $40.00 registration fee. If you decide to sell it to someone at the auction, the sale must be transacted through the office.
